Rapid Response: Next Meeting

The Rapid Response Network continues to grow being a Welcome Project program into a large network within Somerville. “The Rapid Response Network is really just a loose network of people who can provide a wide range of support to families affected by an ICE raid,” David Gibbs, executive director of the Community Action Agency of Somerville, said. In addition to volunteers, the network also connects immigrants to available resources in the city— such as trauma counseling and interpreter services.

Though other non-profits have also joined this network, the program is largely reliant on volunteers from the community and we are always seeking new volunteers. There are many different levels of needs from planning events to even cooking a meal, so anyone who would like to can help out and make a difference.  If you are interested in volunteering, join us at our next meeting on Wednesday March 21, from 6-8pm at The Welcome Project. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to email volunteer@welcomeproject.org.
